rough day today

Today was a bit of a rough day. It rained today, Kerwin cried several times: over a ball he threw over the railing that we couldn't find, over a straw he found on the floor that we wouldn't let him keep, and over a hat that didn't belong to him, and the Haitian ladies put a raw fish in our freezer so now our water bottles stink and it tastes like we're drinking some form of flavored fish water. We both have kind of hit a wall and feel like we're ready to be back in America, which will not happen any time soon. So we appreciate your prayers for our attitudes and also for our dealing with Kerwin's behavior. We have included a couple happy pictures.

Becky Mike and Kerwin,
So sorry Kerwin had a grumpy day. With your note yesterday I wondered if he should take an afternoon nap and have a sturdy midafternoon snack. I'm sure he doesn't want to take a nap, at his age, but honey I know how you can wear me out and I wouldn't be surprised if he is getting too tired. You might have to lay down with him each afternoon.
I sent you some suggestions in my email for things to do. I wish you had the flash cards that Rick and I are using. He might enjoy them. We worked on our sign language again tonight.
I'm saying a prayer that you will find something that you can do as a family each day to pass the time while also helping others around you. Are you able to go into the village? Can you hire one of the security guards to accompany you. Can you teach Kerwin to cook? Can you go to a beach? Is there an interpreter available? I Pray the Lord will give you some direction and freedom to move about.
Has Kerwin wanted to play with his old friends? You could go along and play with him and the other children.
I'm sorry the days are moving so slowly. We are busy so the days are not so tiresom as we wait for your return but I do find it hard to focus and stay on task, weather at home or work. My thoughts are always drifting to Haiti. When they drift, I try to remember to pray.
Love

Hey,
I saw that there is a new group coming in on the 15'th If they are doing VBS, I think you should ask if you can go along to help and let Kerwin participate participate in it.I would just start going as many places as you can. I'll let you know if I come up with any more activities. I have an Kid's craft book in the attic somewhere. I'll see if i can find it. Do you have high speed internet?
My Acc test went very well today. It was a lot easier than I expected. I'm glad I got help from Meredith. If Mike is interested in what I am doing in Stats, I can send him the web address.
I'm going to bed. I'll be praying for you. Keep us posted.

There are several new pics it kerwin's email for him. One really good one of mom and max. She's not trying to smile, so it looks great.
I got a 95% on my first ACC test. I don't know the class average. That is something I like to know. Going to Icthus tonight. I'm already exausted.

Don't worry you are not missing much around here. it has been pretty dull. We just spend most our time pitifully waiting to hear news from you. We love you.

I check the blog everyday to hear news from you. The weather here is hot and dry which means most people are grumpy. Jordan is playing ball just about every night. Jessica went to the doctor and had great news. Her foot has healed, no cast is needed, and she can play ball. I think she is going to continue therapy and wait on playing ball for awhile. They do not want to chance another injury. She made first team All State. She will be going to a special ceremony at UK this weekend. Her Dad lost his job last week so it was nice to have some good news.

Can we send you all anything or will you be home before it got to Haiti?

Take care. I will try to think of something you can do during the day to pass the time.

I went to your house last night to pick up mail. Everything is fine and your new sink is installed. I got your bills up to date and your direct deposit confirmation came also.

I hope today is going better than yesterday. We are anxious for you to come home but you can make good use of this time with Kerwin when you have few others distractions around you. We continue to pray for you every day.

Love,
Dad

Hey just wanted to say hi, I have been having a lot of problems with my computer and I can view your web page, but can't make any kind of a post, so I will have to do all of that from Mom and Dad's, not that it's that big of a deal. I hope thinks get better soon, but it's certainly going to take a bit to get accustomed to everything, but in the end it will all be worth it I am sure.
Nothing real exciting happening here, but I figured you might want to hear a funny story. Alec and I went to the Grand Victoria to waste a couple of hours the other night, and try to get lucky enough to hit the bad beat jackpot (185,000). We both do pretty well and decide to call it a night, but decide to hit a slot machine together on the way out, we break even on that as well and cash out the twenty dollars. The machine we used is right by the entrance to the boat where a few people are just now entering. Alec grabs the twenty waves it in the air at the people walking in and says "they can't take my dignity" stuffs the bill in his pocket and walks off. I was laughing the whole way home he is such an idiot, but always entertaining.
Hope you find that as funny as I did talk to you again soon.
Love,
Aaron

Dinah,

Thanks for the softball update. Tell all those girls I hope they're doing well and I miss them. As for sending anything, it will take a long while to get here, it has to come by boat which is very slow, so it will miss us.

Thanks,
Mike

Aaron,
What is the state of Alec's hair these days. Has it recovered from the "incident?"
