The LORD had said to Abram, "Leave your country, your people and your father's household and go to the land I will show you. Genesis 12:1
I feel like we have been living this verse for the last year but it is all the more real tonight as we get ready to go to Port-au-Prince tomorrow. We are so full of excitement, anticipation, and emotion. Kerwin on the other hand is very excited about riding in the plane tomorrow and rolling his "Cars" suitcase. The group had a large prayer time for us tonight. It was very emotional. We have grown to know and love many of the staff and interns that we have lived with the last month. We may be coming back here but we hope not to have to. After we finished praying, I saw that Kerwin's birth parents were here. They are going with us early tomorrow and are staying here at the mission tonight. This is gives us some peace of mind. We have an appointment with the USCIS (formerly the INS) on Thursday. We will also see a doctor while we are there. As far as the remainder of the Haitian paperwork, we will try to find out what kind of progress has been made and how much longer we anticipate it taking. Then we will make further decisions about where we will stay and for how long.
We took lots of pictures today but I don't have time to post them. I will try to update the site soon and will post them then. We covet your prayers for us and the whole paperwork process. Talk to you all soon!!!
